Thank you for visiting my site.
I set up Robin's drawer to combine a few things I feel passionately about, they are:
Knitting! “Mama,” my paternal grandmother taught me to knit, probably at an age where children shouldn't really be using knitting needles! Robin's drawer is named after her because I adore all the Robins I see in my garden. My mum once told me that Robin's signify loved ones watching over us and it’s how I came up with the name.
It's so therapeutic and I love the idea of knitting for a purpose!
Slow fashion/decor; purchasing imperfectly, perfect clothing that is made unique and not in sweatshops -no! We're all guilty of it. Let's buy wisely when we can afford it, contribute to small businesses, real talent and minimise the mass produced tut in our wardrobes, some of which, we’ve never worn and we know, will end up in landfill.
Sustainable, ethical, and with the right care, long lasting items of clothing. Our knits are made from gorgeous wool supplied by Wool and the gang who ensure their wool is sourced sustainably and is biodegradable. We also use yarn that is made from recycled plastic bottles, how amazing is that?! I probably feel more strongly about this since becoming a parent but it’s not just about my babies, let’s leave our planet better than we found it, it’s the polite thing to do!
Donating. 10% of any profit will be donated to educating girls.
What can you buy from Robin’s Drawer:
Ready made items on our website
Bespoke items -These currently need to be fairly simple during my maternity leave :)
Charity items, buy something to be gifted to someone who needs it. I will keep a donation box and once filled, will send the items off, depending on the time of year, to various places in need
I’m so excited to be doing this!
Love Raksha
